This is Penelope, one of our new cat designs. She tried to kill me while I was doing this painting. (Not really. I work from photographs. She lives up the street, with my friend Heidi.) Some of my subjects are so easy to paint, it's like they just curl up on the paper and go flat and look back at me: "Like this?" Not this girl. *Every line* was difficult, she just did not want to be painted. It took forever, and I can't remember how many times I almost shelved her. Maybe because she is a semi-sorta feral.

Watch your mailbox for our 2015-2016 catalog! We have four new little dogs: a beagle named Mrs Bigglesworth, a scruffy terrier named Myrtle, and two short-coated little terrier mix things, Ava and Arabella.

This is my Henriette, as a pointy-eared kitten, and this week, after a cold. While she had a fever, the hairs around her eyes and mouth came in pale. A great demonstration of the way Siamese cats get their pigmented points! Their coat color is suppressed at normal body temperature, and expressed at the cooler extremities. So when her little face was warm with a fever, the growing hairs came in pale. The next round of fur will have her dark-faced again.

We are in Georgia, but our products are all printed and finished by a firm in Little Rock, AR (long story.) One of their pressmen lost everything in the tornado on April 27, but he and his family walked away. Our hearts go out to all those people in the storm.

This cat looks exactly like a planarian! (Apologies to people who saw it yesterday, I have edited the pictures a little.) She is a sweet sweet thing who is awaiting adoption or rescue in a shelter in Galveston, Texas. Anybody out there in Galveston?

Yay! Finally put the last touches on Kaiser, the new German Shepherd picture. He is shipping off to be printed and should be available in a few weeks.
By the way, this picture is dedicated to Alissa at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, who made an impassioned case for a new GSD design after Harrison was discontinued.
