Skateboarding and real estate? Trust me, they're more alike than you’d think. 🛹 🏡

Both require patience, persistence and a willingness to take a few hits.

When I first picked up skating in my 30s after moving to New York, I had no idea how much it would parallel my journey in real estate.

I fell, I got hurt, and I put in the work—just like my early days in investing.

Whether it’s wiping out on concrete or facing setbacks in a deal, the key is getting back up EVERY TIME.

The reward? Progress.

From skateboarding in Barbados to Vienna, to closing deals over the Gulf of Mexico and Portugal, I’ve met incredible people and learned so much along the way.

Ever hired a contractor who left you with a mess instead of a masterpiece?��
Learning to work with contractors was one of the biggest lessons I had to learn—quickly! Here are 3 tips I wish someone had told me before my first project:�
1️⃣ Not every contractor who talks a big game knows what they’re doing. I had a few ‘experts’ who left me with incomplete work and headaches. Always check their credentials and past projects.�
2️⃣ Cheap doesn’t mean better. That lowball bid will likely cost you more in the long run. Invest in quality from the start, and you’ll save time and money.�
3️⃣ Document everything upfront. Trust me, when memories start to fade, those contracts and agreements will save you so much stress and miscommunication.�
Avoid these mistakes, and you’ll thank yourself later.�

Take bold, consistent action to change your circumstances. 📣

It was bananas to read that that my final year of my MBA began 9 years ago today! 🍌

While my education is ongoing, it’s nice to reflect. 📈

I wanted to change my life so I took bold action. I hated my job and I wanted a career shift. I moved to Iowa for 2 years to pursue my masters. 🌽

⚙️ This set into motion a series of events that has me where I am today. I’m not yet where I want to be, but I’m greatful for the journey and the experiences along the way.

It’s true: I’m addicted to real estate.

Many newbies think success in real estate comes down to timing the market. In reality real estate is so much more than that.

What other investment pays you 5 ways?

1️⃣ Depreciation (non-cash tax benefits)
2️⃣ Debt amortization (tenants repay your debt)
3️⃣ Leverage (0-25% downpayment and the bank funds the rest)
4️⃣ Appreciation (increase in value over time)
5️⃣ Cash flow (money remaining after all expenses)
