Typically I don't comment publicly on my life hardships, my political views or really much that can bring forth controversy or negativity. As I strive to be God's LIGHT in this world, I keep it neutral and positive. But last night, Tony Hinchcliffe's comments about Jews, Blacks, Latinos were beyond disgraceful, distasteful and not comedy at all. As a proud Puerto Rican who shows everyone love regardless of race, age, and political party, I was deeply offended and hurt to my core to hear the disrepect, the lack of value of another AMERICAN'S ethnicity and the pure discredit of the contributions PUERTO RICANS (WHO ARE AMERICANS) have made to this country was sickening to me. How would you feel if a politician said America is trash? You may say Trump did NOT say these things, but birds of a feather flock together. What's even more concerning is when people brush off racist jokes as harmless; this mindset contributes to a broader culture of intolerance. There is nothing to joke about in this political race as the stakes are very high. Comedy can be a powerful tool for change, but use it to unite not divide.
And Tony, no eres bienvenido en nuestra isla. La broma es tuya.
