Squid Games is a popular series on Netflix. Not only is it entertaining and filled with suspense but thought provoking lessons. Here are some of the ones that I saw from the series. You can add yours in the comments ...
1.Taking risks , win or lose - People will sometimes choose to take the chance if when the consequences are extreme ... In the movie , 93% of the players chose to return to the game even when the consequence was death. So too in business , particularly entrepreneurship , that may explain why people who choose to be business owners would rather take the risks to start a business, rather than continue to get a steady paycheck from a job that doesn't fuel their passion.
2. The strongest among us - In the game, as well as in life, we see where people often try to get close to those considered the strongest. Strength is often attributed to physical strength as well as the smartest, but heart is often downplayed with women seen as weaker. However, during the marble game, we saw where the two girls, though set up to play against each other , displayed strength of heart, wherein one chose to die so the other could live. Emotional strength is often overlooked.
3. Learn from your mistakes - At the beginning of the game, we saw where players came in totally blind to what they were expected to do , and in the first game - red light , green light , they had to think on their feet. The second time around , they came in smarter, and tried tactics such as trying to align themselves with people who were seemingly stronger than they were, and also did whatever it took to get clues on what the upcoming game was so they could get an advantage. The lesson is in business and in life when you get knocked down, learn from the lessons and make a stronger comeback!
4. Whatever it takes - When faced with extreme obstacles, some people will choose themselves, and will do whatever it takes to get to the goal. Others will make sacrifices and will look to help others along the way even when it impacts the chance of them winning. Often it is difficult to know the choice a person will make off the surface.
