Has anyone ever heard the phrase "Your best looks different every day?" Me, too. I think that it is easy to say in theory but hard to keep in mind in practice. We get caught up in the "have tos" of life, the ever increasing responsibilities, the interconnection with others that makes our schedules not our own, and all the pressure to be all the things to all the people.

So, here's what I have to say about it: be all the things to yourself sometimes. The ship doesn't sail without you. Celebrate your small victories and don't let anyone take that away from you. There are always going to be more things to do than there is time to do them, but you being present for yourself, for your things, and for your life is literally the only essential thing in all of that.

Some days are going to be clear wins. Other days, your best is going to be putting everything you have towards doing the absolute bare minimum. And that's okay. It is even okay if you have a bunch of those days in a row. The people who love you and support you will do for you just like you do for them.

So, celebrate your small wins. Do your best to be all the things you want to be, but be all those things for yourself first. You are vitally important even if you don't feel that way today or tomorrow or three weeks from now. And that's okay, too.

For anyone that doesn't know, I've always been in love with MCM homes. I love the stories they tell especially when there are original features, but I understand that everything, including homes, have to move with the times.

Earlier today, I fell down an internet rabbit hole on the topic of conversation pits (an agent-owner removed one in a renovation and I was...not okay after that), I found this article from Dwell with so many beautiful examples of the MCM refresh I had to share.

From 1949 to 1966, Joseph Eichler collaborated with renowned architects to build some 11,000 of his trademark tract houses across the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

For those that didn't know, May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Y'all, we have been through it in the last few years and that's not to mention what we all go through in our individual lives on a daily basis. We are constantly overstimulated by technology, our responsibilities, and our never ending to-do lists. That level of focus requires that we rest, do things we enjoy for no other benefit than our job, and it requires us to put the metaphorical oxygen masks on ourselves first.

If you're struggling, reach out to a trusted confidante. Vulnerability isn't weakness and asking for help doesn't mean that you're not capable, but community is essential to our survival. Choosing your tribe is only the first step: you also have to participate in giving AND receiving from them.

So, do something nice for you today or this week or this month. Just because you want to. Just because you can. Just because someone needs to make sure that you're taken care of, too. Take a breath. Take a bath. Take a walk. Take something for yourself because you give so, so much to others. I'm proud of you.

Getting your home ready for sale is no easy task, but sprucing up interiors with plants and creating outdoor living spaces to showcase your home are a great use of time and resources that will reap fantastic rewards during the negotiation for and sale of your home. The goal is to help prospective buyers see themselves and their life in the space...and fall in love with it. ❤️ Little touches that inspire the vision for the buyer are so key in the marketing and showing processes. You'll thank yourself for the effort later.

Now, if you're saying, "Oh, but I'm not creative like that!" or "Oh, I don't have the time to pull something like that off!" stop right now. Agents are more than just showing property. We meet you where you are in the process whether it your house is showing ready or if you need some help to get started. Give me a call and I can help. 😉

One thing I love about living in the country is the plethora of local business there is to support in so many industries. It is such a lovely byproduct when you're taught to believe that the further you get from major cities, the less access to services you'll have. That simply isn't true in my estimation.

My biggest reason for becoming a real estate agent was to help people live their dreams and I'd like to continue that trend by advertising local - hopefully hyperlocal - businesses.

So, for my first installment, I'd like to tell y'all about Old Cleveland Disposal. Russell has done our recycling for ages and he just couldn't be a nicer man. Rain or shine, he's out collecting our recyclables and taking them to the local recycling center. He has even seen our bins on our porch when it was raining to collect them for us. The service is a steal and so incredibly affordable.

If this is a service you didn't think was available in Habersham, you were mistaken. He also hauls away scrap and has garbage service, too, for those that are interested in a one-stop shop. Give him a call at 706-949-8502 if your interest is piqued!

I've been continuing on my journey learning the tech that KW offers us as agents. I spent some time personalizing my website last week and have been delving into our back of the house program which is amazing.

This week, I'm taking a look at our app. This is an amazing tool for checking out local properties or going on a tour of what is available in a particular area. Pop it open and it tells you what is listed in a neighborhood. Better still is that it offers instant communication between you and your agent regarding whatever properties you have interest in. No more perusing houses via Google and getting 900 phone calls from agents, lenders, or robocalls - just maybe your agent checking in!

On that note, here is the link to my personalized app (come on, you know you want me to call you!):
