After years of spending time on Cape San Blas and hosting families at Beach Camp, Good Fortune, and Sweet Necessity, I’ve learned that the most important things to pack aren’t always the obvious ones. Everyone remembers swimsuits, sunscreen, and flip-flops, but over the years, I've discovered a handful of items I never leave home without because they make our trips easier, more comfortable, and a lot more fun. I thought I’d share my personal Cape San Blas packing list in case it helps you plan your next visit.

10 years ago today. 🦈

Our first shark fishing trip with Joel with Cape Surfaris

After we finally brought this shark onto the beach, Joel calmly looked at Benton and said:

“Benton! Step on its fins and grab it by the mouth so we can cut the hook!”

Benton’s response:

“You want me to step on the fins and grab the mouth?!? OK!!!”

And somehow... that’s exactly what happened.

One bolt cutter, one very brave kid, one great leader (that’s you, Joel!), and one unforgettable night on Cape San Blas.

Some vacation memories fade. Others become family legends. ❤️

Crosby and Maggie decided they were ready for a beach day before I was this morning. By the time I caught up with them at the boardwalk, they were patiently waiting for me like this was all part of the plan. 🐾🌊

Vacation is supposed to be relaxing… but traveling with dietary restrictions can definitely add extra planning.
