Baby praying mantis rescue! You
never know what you'll encounter taking out the trash!
Got the trash ready & waited out a lovely rain storm on
the back porch - the temp dropped 10 degrees! Rolled
both herby curbies to the street. When I got to the end
of the driveway I saw this baby praying mantis appear
on the trash lid. I gently nudged her off into the
pinestraw & retrieved a small plastic container from the
recyclables. I captured her, left the lid ajar & hurried
up the driveway. I set her free in the hostas on the
back patio. I've always been fascinated by these
creatures. Now I wonder if I'll see her again.

Wow! What an eventful Memorial Day! We started the day at Pot Luck for breakfast. Missing in the photo are Matthew, Jody & Mary Grace. We'd planned to enjoy watching the Ride for America roll through but somehow we managed to miss it - let's just say our timing was off. Next up was a pool party & BBQ. The day ended with friends & burgers! Thank you for the men & women who gave all for our many freedoms! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Yard finds at 152 this afternoon! Gorgeous lily shared with me by my friend Ann Hollis is in full bloom. Deer snacked on it earlier in the season but fortunately didn't do much damage. My butterfly bushes are loaded & just starting to bloom.

Surprise! Look at these gorgeous 1st blueberries of the season at 152! I'm extra thrilled because these had just started blooming right before those really cold snaps we had earlier in the spring. I've been carefully monitoring their progress yet these ripe ones caught me by surprise this afternoon! Extra sweet and delicious with all of this warm sunshine!
