As a realtor in Augusta I am often confronted with the question of how we are progressing as a city and how do I like living here. I am not from here, I have traveled and lived in many beautiful places and I never ever thought I would end up in living in Augusta, even though my mom and brother have been here for over 35 years when it was the wild west. 😁 I can tell you now, after years of living and working here, I love it and I believe in the positive movement of growth and becoming a better city. It takes time, vision and yes pressure to want to make it better. Its not the prettiest, especially downtown right now with all the new construction, and it doesn't have the most to do or see and its definitely feeling its growing pains, but what it does have is heart and soul. I feel it and love the people that share this very diverse and eclectic little city. Its a perfect place to be able to start a business without being inundated by many other "same" businesses. Its got art, music, nature and history. Its got plenty of room to expand, job growth, home affordability in comparison to other cities, and its a perfect hub for travel from the mountains to the beaches. Cool thing is, essentially we are the "new" city on the map in the south east and that will bring many that want to invest in it. So if you live here already, invest in yourself by giving back to it. Talk about the good! Create the change, start that business, support local businesses, buy a home, buy an investment property and talk about the good instead of focusing on the bad. Bad is everywhere and not exclusive to our city.
This is one of several articles that have come out recently about our Augusta and if you live here or are passing by and saying negative things then you dont see opportunity and arent taking advantage of this sleep city that is waking up. Watch it grow, be the positive energy to make it a better place to live, it is going to give back, just be patient.
