About 2-3 years ago, Jeffrey and Ijionea came to me looking for a place to lease. Like so many families, they had a dream of becoming homeowners, but they weren’t quite in position yet.

Today is bigger than a home purchase.

It’s a reminder that despite everything social media, the news, and society may try to convince us of, there are still hardworking, educated, faithful, committed Black men building strong families every single day.

Meet Jeffrey and Ijionea

A young married couple, both under 30, expecting their second child, deeply in love, and now purchasing their first home together.

Too often we hear narratives that Black men don’t lead their families, don’t commit, don’t provide, don’t value education, don’t work hard, or don’t build wealth. Jeffrey is living proof that those stereotypes don’t define us.

What I see is a husband who loves his wife. A father preparing for his growing family. A man making sacrifices today to create a better tomorrow. A young couple choosing legacy over excuses and ownership over limitation.

This is one of the most common questions I get from buyers.

The truth is, nobody knows exactly where interest rates are headed next.

Yes, lower rates can mean a lower monthly payment. But they also tend to bring more buyers into the market, which often leads to more competition, bidding wars, and higher home prices.

Instead of asking, “Should I wait for rates to drop?” ask yourself:

âś… Is my income stable?
âś… Can I comfortably afford the payment?
âś… Do I have my down payment and reserves ready?
âś… Am I planning to stay in the home long enough to benefit from ownership?

If the answer is yes, then you may already be in a position to buy.

Remember:
