I showed an amazing Lake Travis home to my wonderful buyer clients this weekend and we got an interesting surprise: there is a Wild Blue Herron rookery in its backyard tree. Male Blue Herron’s return to the same nest every year and woo females with stick dances showing off their skills- the best nest and dance gets the females heart. You’ll view months of entertainment between mating, nesting, and fledgling- and they’ll return every year. The nature lover in me puts a premium on this rare benefit. Oh- and doesn’t the lake look fab when it’s about 80% full…….I know which house I’m rooting for them to buy!

Just Sold | Northwest Hills Lock and Leave

Growing up in Northwest Hills my now Atlanta based clients knew they’d want to come back eventually. Their now adult kids beat them back to Austin and are having a ton of fun without them. Dad and Mom aren’t ready to return full time but they are ready to visit often and having their own home base back in their favorite hood was the key to making everyone in the family happy.

The views and treehouse feel of their new Neely Canyon condo did the trick. Every visit included deer, squirrel, raccoon and many bird sightings on both front and back doors. Being surrounded by nature but walkable to grocery, Wally’s, and Torchys… that’s great Austin living. Now they can share in all the fun of Austin on their own terms.
