🏛️ From Historic Landmark to New Chapter: The Hammond

One of the best parts of what we do is watching an old building come back to life. ❤️

We’re kicking off a new series to share the stories behind our projects — the buildings, the people, and the partners who helped bring them back to life. And we have some fun photos to share along the way!

Let’s start where it all began: The Hammond in Bangor, Maine.

Once home to Merrill Bank, this stately building was part of Bangor’s timber-era history. After sitting quiet for nearly a decade, it was ready for a new chapter.

Our first project transformed The Hammond into 8 beautifully crafted residential apartments, while also providing space on the first floor for the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce and creating a little magic in the basement with Barliman’s speakeasy. 🥃✨

The Hammond is more than just a building. It’s a reminder of what’s possible when we invest in our historic properties and the communities around them — creating housing, supporting local organizations, and giving people unique places to gather.

And if you haven’t been to Barliman’s, it’s definitely worth a visit!

From that first project to nearly 20 projects today, we’re incredibly proud of the journey and grateful to everyone who believed in the vision from the beginning.

This is just the beginning of the story. Stay tuned as we share more of the projects, people, and partnerships that have helped shape the journey. 🌊
