At Bedford Green Apartments, we’re proud to celebrate residents who make a positive impact in our community 💛

Resident Richard “Dick” Duffey recently participated in the Town of Bedford’s Mental Health Awareness Day through the Yellow Tulip Project, helping spread kindness and encouragement by painting uplifting words and phrases on rocks placed throughout the Town’s Daffodil Garden for all to enjoy.

Dick has called Bedford Green home since July 2018 and is known throughout our community for his active spirit and positive energy. Whether he’s biking from Bedford all the way into Boston, participating in sailing and biking groups, or staying involved in recreational activities here at Bedford Green, Dick continues to inspire those around him every day.

Thank you, Dick, for helping make both Bedford Green and the greater Bedford community brighter, kinder places 🌼🚲

🎉🎂 Celebrating 97 Amazing Years — Happy Birthday, Eugene “Gene” Trainor! 🎂🎉

Earlier this week, residents and staff at Bedford Green came together to celebrate a very special milestone — the 97th birthday of our beloved resident, Eugene “Gene” Trainor.

In nearly a decade as a community, Gene stands out not only as our oldest resident, but as one of the most adventurous, thoughtful, and uniquely spirited individuals we’ve had the pleasure of knowing. He is a true example of what it means to live life with curiosity, empathy, and a positive outlook — something that shines through in his signature smirk and unmistakable twinkle in his eye.

During his five years at Bedford Green, Gene has been an active and enthusiastic participant in nearly every program offered, especially outdoor and recreational activities such as chair skiing and canoeing with a HUD-VASH Certified Art Therapist. He is also a dedicated supporter and the biggest fan of our Community Garden, consistently encouraging both residents and staff to join him in activities and try something new.

When asked about his birthday treats, Gene kept it delightfully simple — requesting raspberry preserves for his ice cream and honey for his coffee — wishes we were happy to fulfill!

Gene, your energy and spirit continue to inspire our entire community. Thank you for the joy you bring to Bedford Green every day. Here’s to you and 97 incredible years! 💙
