One of the most important lessons I learned in engineering had nothing to do with equations.

Years ago, my company sent me to China to take over a drilling project that had already defeated another engineer.

On the first day, nothing worked.

Thousands of pounds of drilling equipment were free-falling. Everything I had designed and tested in the comfort of my office seemed inadequate in the field.

By the end of the second day, I honestly thought I had been handed a mission impossible.

I was discouraged. Frustrated. Running out of ideas.

Then one of the field engineers looked at me and said:

"I believe you can do it, George."

Those words gave me just enough strength to keep going one more day.

That night, a solution came to me completely out of nowhere.

To this day, I believe God put that idea in my mind.

The next morning, we tested it.

It worked.

What stayed with me all these years wasn't just the solution. It was the lesson:

Don't quit too soon.

Sometimes the breakthrough comes one step beyond the point where you feel like giving up.

Today, whether I'm helping clients solve real estate challenges or facing difficulties in life, I remember that experience.

Keep going.
Keep believing.
Keep trusting.
