â ď¸ A scam call almost got past my radar... because my Caller ID actually said Kaiser Permanente.
The caller claimed they needed to verify a $5,000 reimbursement for a surgery I never had. They even âescalatedâ me to someone claiming to be with a legitimate Kaiser investigations department.
When I said, âI think this is a scam callââŚ
Click. đł They hung up on me.
The reminder I wanted to pass along: Scammers can spoof Caller ID so a legitimate company name or phone number appears on your screen.
Never give personal information, passwords or verification codes to an unexpected caller. If something feels off, hang up and call the organization yourself using a number you know is legitimate.
Caller ID is NOT verification.
Please share - especially with someone who may be more trusting of a familiar name on their phone. â¤ď¸
