So, no one is using the word recession yet, but...
Historically, over the last 5 recessions, housing prices went up during 3 of them. The biggest drop in value came during the last recession, different from the others in that the housing arena was the source of the problem. Graphic from Keeping Current Matters.

Update from COVID Economic Impact Webinar presented by Oregon Community Foundation. Presenter was Damon Runberg, Regional Economist, Oregon Employment Department.
He emphasized staying home so we can first take care of the health crisis. Overall Oregon unemployment filing numbers for the week of March 8: 4900. For the week of March 22: 76,500.
We are all seeing friends and neighbors dealing with job loss or reduction.
A bright spot was Julie Gregory of Oregon Community Foundation announcing a new fund, Oregon Small Business Stabilization Fund. Go to oregoncf.org to find out more.
And, Katie Brooks, CEO of Bend Chamber of Commerce shared a site with pages to click on for employers, employees and community members to seek information and assistance: centraloregonsos.com It was put together in partnership with OSU Cascades and it looks to be a great resource.
My goal is to pay attention to all of these avenues for connection, assistance and community in order to pass them on. Be well!
