Ohtani vs. Judge is even more fun in real estate!
Ohtani reportedly purchased this contemporary abode (first 3 pics) in May 2024, paying $7,850,000—a discount from the original list price of $8.9 million, which had been reduced to $8.3 million before Ohtani snapped it up for the lower sum.
The neighborhood is all about quiet luxury and isn’t without high-profile people: Celebs who have called the suburban town home include Donald Glover, Mario Lopez, Topher Grace, and Angela Bassett.
Built in 2013, the swanky spot spans 7,327 square feet on an acre lot and includes five en suite bedrooms plus three more baths. It blends “midcentury modern and contemporary design language,” according to the listing.
Highlights include floor-to-ceiling, clerestory windows and striking Bluestone walls at the entry. The family room flows to the outdoor dining area in a thoughtful melding of indoor and outdoor design, the listing notes.
Amenities include a custom home theater, a gym and sauna, and a four-car garage. The home is equipped with smart technology.
Set on almost an acre, the backyard offers an infinity pool and a hot tub, a sport court, and lounge areas.
However, the sanctuary was seemingly a strike out, as the pro athlete apparently never moved in, due to lack of privacy and security, according to reports.
Aaron Judge is no slouch when it comes to real estate. The New York Yankee, 32, has spent his entire career with the team, and the star has the salary to prove it. His nine-year, $360 million contract works out to a cool $40 million per year.
So what’s he doing with all that cash? Apparently, the six-time All-Star keeps it simple, and he keeps himself in the Big Apple.
He reportedly picked up a posh penthouse (pics 4-6) at The Cortlaned in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.
Judge, who married his long time girlfriend Samantha Bracksieck in December 2021, also owns pet dachshunds named Gus and Penny.
While there is no official word on the price he paid for his new home base, the New York Post reported that two apparently separate units were bought by a single owner for $40 million.
The well-paid player said of the couple’s choice to be in NYC: “… the decision that was in our hearts, which is we belong in New York, we belong in this city.”
