🚨 Home Inspection Reports Are NOT Pass or Fail 🚨

One of the biggest misconceptions I see with home buyers is thinking that an inspection report determines whether a house “passes” or “fails.”

It doesn’t.

In fact, most inspection reports are 30-40+ pages long and will list every little thing the inspector finds—from a loose doorknob to a missing GFCI outlet to larger concerns that may need attention.

The purpose of a home inspection isn’t to find a perfect house (because they don’t exist ). It’s a tool to help you better understand the home you’re considering purchasing.

What we’re really looking for are:
✔️ Major defects
✔️ Safety concerns
✔️ Potentially expensive repairs
✔️ Items that may affect your decision or future budget

Before you panic over a long inspection report, sit down with your Realtor® and go through it together. If something needs clarification, we can reach out to the inspector. If there are concerns about repairs, we can often get estimates so you have a better understanding of the actual cost involved.

A long report doesn’t automatically mean it’s a bad house.

The goal isn’t to find reasons to walk away. The goal is to gather information so you can make an informed decision about one of the biggest purchases you’ll ever make.

Knowledge is power—and that’s exactly what a home inspection is designed to provide.
