"They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations." — Isaiah 61:4
This past winter, my wife and I were driving through Park Hills when we spotted a house completely swallowed by trees and brush — clearly abandoned, with a gang of stray cats standing guard. My heart hurts for buildings like this. It was someone's home once. It housed a family. On that winter day, it was housing only cats, mice, and trash.
We sent the owner of record a postcard asking if they'd have any interest in selling.
The family called us back. The elderly father was still paying a mortgage on this house — a house that had sat empty for over six years after he moved in with his kids. A senior citizen, on a fixed income, spending half his monthly budget on a mortgage for a vacant property. For years.
We facilitated the payoff of his remaining mortgage balance, made sure he walked away with as much cash as possible, and transferred the property to a local builder who will demo the structure and build new from the ground up. Within a year, this lot will support a family again. The neighbors will look out their windows and see a clean, new home — not an overgrown lot, stray cats, and a crumbling shell.
We started C&H Freedom Properties to help neighbors find freedom from housing stress.
We work with homeowners who are:
→ Paying a mortgage — or just taxes — on a vacant property
→ Underwater on their mortgage with no equity to sell traditionally
→ Behind on payments and at risk of losing their home, equity, and credit
→ Ready to sell quickly, simply, and as-is — no showings, no hassle
If any of this sounds familiar, or if you know someone in that situation, please share the word. There's no pressure — just an honest conversation and a clear path forward.
