I’ll keep this story quick, but I had an elderly couple reach out to me the other day about a piece of property that they owned in Caddo Parish. It has been in the husband’s family for well over 100 years, so theres plenty of history on the place. Since their age is catching up to them, 92 years young to be exact, they can no longer keep up with the property. They received one of my postcards in the mail, so They called and asked if I would come out, walk the property, take photos, and give them some sort of estimate on what the property may be worth. I jumped all over it and man am I glad I did. This is one of the most beautiful pieces of property that I have had the privilege to be on. It almost feels like it’s in the midwest. Did i mention that it has a house on it with a beautiful view as well? Anyways, As I was talking with the gentleman, he told me that a few people have stopped by and offered to buy the place. He said that he had no idea what the property was actually worth, but he felt like what they were offering him was under value. I say all of this because not only were they offering him under the value, but had he known at the time what it was worth, he would have been insulted. Thank the lord that he didn’t accept one of the offers that were thrown his way. As a land specialist at Whitetail Properties, this is what we do.
