Today marked one of the greatest honors of my life. I had the privilege of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for three extraordinary veterans, made possible by the incredible work of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Scott Legieza and I worked tirelessly to secure three neighboring properties for these heroes—CPL Travis Dodson, USMC; LCPL Eli Tice, USMC; and SGT Kevin Gatson, Army. These men have given so much in service to our country, and it’s humbling to see them receive homes built entirely for them by Tunnel to Towers, at no cost.

To these brave veterans, I pray for blessings over your new homes and your future. You’ve paid more than your share, and it’s an honor to see you recognized in this way.

This weekend, I had the distinct honor of helping a sweet Gold Star family find a home. While I know I can never give back what they have lost, I can be there for them—not out of pity, but to offer my support and show how much I truly honor and appreciate their sacrifice.

SPC Anthony Vargas, US Army, Age 27, served with the 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY. On November 8, 2010, in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, he made the ultimate sacrifice when insurgents attacked his unit with a makeshift bomb.

This brave young man gave everything, and so did his family, so that you, I, and every other American can enjoy our freedoms and live in peace. While I wish we had met under different circumstances, I am grateful that God led me to them, allowing me to help in any way I could. Though I can never fully repay them for what they’ve given, I will always honor their sacrifice.

We are thrilled to announce that at our recent meeting, Mike Fay Sr. was voted in as our new President, and Darren Barnes as our new Executive Director!

We also want to introduce you to our entire DLF Board of Directors, who work tirelessly to keep Destin's memory alive and to end impaired driving. A heartfelt thank you to our founding members Leonora Clifford (Secretary), Tony Clifford, and Adam Barnes.
