⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ There's nothing better than hearing from a happy client! Here's what home buyer Meggy Z. had to say about her experience with us.

"Wow! As a home buyer, Anthony and the team was referred to me by other septic system professionals, and now I totally understand why he is the one to hire. To say that I am impressed would be an understatement; I'll never buy a house in the area without getting his invaluable opinion!"

Reviews like this mean the world to us. When other industry professionals refer their own clients to you, that's the kind of trust you can't fake—it's earned, one thorough inspection at a time.

Thank you, Meggy, for trusting us with such an important decision. We're grateful for clients like you!

Thorough doesn't even begin to describe it. When something doesn't add up underground, we don't guess—we dig in and prove it. Here's a look at exactly how we get to the bottom of a septic mystery.

On this inspection, we first determined the outlet line was fully charged—a red flag worth investigating. So we dug to uncover the distribution box and, as a standard step, performed a dye test. That's when things got telling: the hole began filling with water.

But we don't stop at "probably." To confirm we were dealing with actual wastewater, we brought in our camera snake and locator. You'll see Alex verifying the precise location using sonar—pinpoint accuracy, no assumptions.

As the hole progressively filled, we confirmed the issue 100%.
This is what a real inspection looks like. It's not a quick glance and a thumbs up—it's a careful, methodical process designed to uncover the truth about what's happening beneath the surface. Because when you're buying a home or maintaining one, "looks fine" isn't good enough. You deserve certainty.

In all my years of inspecting septic systems, this is hands down one of the worst metal tanks I've ever come across. And here's the unsettling question—do you actually know what's sitting 2 to 3 feet beneath your front yard?

Think about it: you're cutting the grass, the kids are running around, the dog's chasing a ball… all while a failing tank quietly deteriorates underground.

That's exactly what we found on this inspection. This metal septic tank is literally on the verge of collapse—a large hole has formed, the top is buckling, and it's sitting below normal operating level, which already tells us it's leaking.

From the surface, you'd never know. Everything above ground looked completely ordinary. But that's the danger with septic systems—the most serious problems hide where you can't see them, until someone gets in and takes a real look.

This is why periodic inspections matter, and why you should never buy a home without knowing exactly what's underground. Our role is straightforward: we inspect, we document, and we hand you an honest report of what's in good shape—and what isn't. No surprises, no guesswork—just the facts you need to protect your family and your investment. ✅

Know what's beneath you. Get it inspected!

Everything looked fine… until we took a closer look. That's the thing about septic systems—what you can't see can cost you big time!

On an inspection recently, we uncovered a precast concrete tank that was heavily deteriorated, badly damaged, and sitting below normal operating level. From the surface, the homeowners and buyers had no reason to suspect a thing—toilets flushed, drains ran, life went on as usual. But beneath the ground? A serious problem quietly waiting to surface.

This is exactly why inspections matter. A failing tank like this isn't something you notice during everyday use—it's the kind of issue that only shows up when a trained eye gets in and examines what's really going on. Whether you're buying a home or simply staying ahead on maintenance, knowing the true condition of your septic system can save you from a costly, messy surprise down the road.

Don't get caught off guard. Get it inspected first!

Buying an older home? There may be a hidden surprise underground — Orangeburg pipe!

Orangeburg pipe was commonly installed in homes built between the 1940s and 1970s. Made from compressed wood pulp and asbestos fibers, it's brittle, absorbs moisture, and can distort over time — making it structurally unsound. ⚠️ Because of its poor durability and high failure rate, it was eventually phased out and replaced by stronger materials like PVC and SDR.

If your home dates back to that era, it pays to know what's beneath the surface. At NY Environmental Septic Inspections, we inspect your system and provide a clear, detailed report on exactly what we find — so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
