🚧 Road Construction Update: South Seventh Street Rehabilitation Project 🚧

Beginning on or about June 11, 2026, the City of Brighton’s contractor will start the South Seventh Street Rehabilitation Project between Main Street and Livingston Road.

This important infrastructure project includes:
✔️ Full removal and replacement of the asphalt roadway
✔️ Water main improvements
✔️ Sidewalk and curb repairs
✔️ New ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps for improved accessibility

For the safety of workers and motorists, South Seventh Street will be closed to through traffic during construction. Residents living on South Seventh will continue to have access to their homes. Please follow all posted detour routes and allow extra travel time.
The project is expected to progress throughout the summer, to reopen the roadway before the start of the 2026-2027 school year in late August.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we invest in critical improvements to our community's infrastructure.

Brought lunch to the Scranton Middle School teachers & staff today. I love interacting with our community educators and my husband's co-workers. It's almost time for Spring Break, and I know they can't wait for a break! Thought I'd make it a little easier on them.

Relocating from Texas to our beautiful state of Michigan, my clients first reached out to me May of last year in need of a rental house in SE Michigan. Ultimately they wanted to investigate the other nearby towns in order to come to a decision on where to buy their forever home.
