"A safe home and peace of mind starts with a careful inspection".
On a recent home inspection, I discovered the gas main was leaking. I first smelled it when I was in the front yard of the home and then confirmed same with my gas detector. Due to the nature and severity of the situation, I reached out to the home owner who then reached out to the local energy company to come and assess the situation. They in fact did confirm a gas leak was present and were able to quickly rectify the situation.
This could have ended in a totally different way. In this area, it is common for homeowners to burn weeds with a gas torch. I don't have to tell you what could have happened if that would have transpired. In any case, a gas leak is never good for the future home buyer or the current homeowner. In this case, it ended up being an easy fix that the energy company took care of since it was at the main (and as a bonus didn't cost anybody anything).
There is a reason why our motto is "A safe home and peace of mind starts with a careful inspection". It's the main reason I got into this business. I truly want a homeowner to know they are getting a safe home before they buy it.
