Sometimes making your dream happen looks like going to college, earning the degree, building the career, and clocking in and out every day.
And sometimes it looks like sweating through your clothes in the August heat, covered in dirt and paint, giving your investment property a refresh so it can continue to compete as a top-performing short-term rental in a highly competitive market. ❤️
This time last year, Clay was gearing up for another year of teaching and coaching—knowing in his heart that it just wasn’t where he was supposed to be anymore.
We had started dreaming about a different kind of life.
A life where we could spend more time together as a family.
Where we could be available when the people we love needed us.
Where we wouldn’t have to turn down an opportunity to serve because of a work schedule.
Where we had the freedom to decide when, where, and how we worked.
So we took a chance on us.
More importantly, we chose to follow where we believed God was leading and trust Him to provide along the way.
And here we are, one year later.
Our uniforms look a little more like work clothes these days. Our offices are our cabins. Our schedule revolves around guest bookings. Some days we’re working on a laptop, and other days we’re pressure washing, painting, repairing, cleaning, landscaping, or sweating through every piece of clothing we own in the August heat. 😂
Is our work life easier? Absolutely not.
But it’s ours.
We’re building something together. We have more control over our time. We’re more available for our family and the people God puts in our path. And every long, hot, exhausting day is helping build the life we once only talked about.
A year ago, this was the dream.
Today, even covered in sweat and working harder than ever, we’re living it.
And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. ❤️
Sometimes chasing the dream doesn’t look very glamorous.
Sometimes it looks like work clothes, sweat, paint, power tools, and a whole lot of faith.
And sometimes that’s exactly what answered prayers look like. 🙏
