🔥Gusty Winds Tonight, Reminder to Extinguish Campfires🔥

It is a breezy night tonight mainly along the spine of the Longfellow Mtns southeastward to the coast. Make sure if you have any campfires tonight to fully extinguish them till they are cold. High-Very High Fire Danger statewide.

Maine Forest Rangers are prepared and ask the public to do their part by being extremely cautious with all outdoor fires. Safe recreational and cooking fires are small (less than 3 feet in diameter and height), surrounded by non-combustible materials (like steel, brick, or mineral soil), and watched at all times. Be certain to have plenty of water and hand tools available to drown your fire and make sure it is cold to the touch before leaving the area.
