DISPLACED but NOT defeated! It’s been over a month since I’ve been able to live in my own home. I’ve been staying in hotels and short-term rentals while my house sits in disrepair. Although I am in a great Inn on lovely Lake Buchanan, there is truly NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

My insurance policy includes $27,000 in Additional Living Expenses (ALE), and they are paying that kind of timely, but they sure do make a big deal of everything. I wish they would just do the ALE on a per diem basis.

If you're a homeowner, know your rights. The Texas Prompt Payment of Claims Act exists for a reason.
