is an auxiliary dwelling unit. An is a home owner association. An HOA by definition is a collection of home owners, and they should paramount ultimately what options are allowed and agreed to by the group of owners despite the law allowing such options, it’s not like this is a new right but a new option that should be considered for a vote not to supersede the collective owner’s rights of an association all together, that would be silly.

We are fans of ADUs. This is our favorite 747sqft floor plan.

Here is, in my opinion, the most popular ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) design floor plan.

What do I look for:

Modern ADU Designs.

1. Clean lines and minimalism
2. Large windows for natural light
3. Open-plan living areas
4. Sleek, modern exterior materials (e.g., metal, wood, glass)

Sustainable ADU Designs

1. Green roofs and solar panels
2. Recycled materials and reclaimed wood
3. Energy-efficient appliances and systems
4. Rainwater harvesting systems

Compact ADU Designs

1. Multifunctional furniture
2. Space-saving storage solutions
3. Efficient layouts for small spaces
4. Vertical gardens or living walls

Traditional ADU Designs

1. Classic architectural styles (e.g., Craftsman, farmhouse)
2. Warm, inviting color schemes
3. Cozy, comfortable interior spaces
