The City of Camden is aware that some customers have noticed an unusual taste or odor in their tap water.

This is caused by seasonal algal activity in Lake Wateree, Camden’s raw water source, brought on by sustained warm temperatures. While the taste and odor may be unpleasant, the water remains safe to drink and continues to meet all federal and state water quality standards.

City water treatment staff have switched to a deeper water intake and adjusted the activated carbon treatment process to help reduce the taste and odor.

Staff will continue monitoring conditions and making adjustments as needed.

From December 4–13, the Bassett Gallery will be transformed into a festive marketplace featuring unique, handmade works perfect for holiday gifting.

The best part? You don’t have to be here the whole time! Our Arts Center staff will handle sales throughout the market. We simply ask participating artists to:

It'll be here before you know it! The Annual Friends of Kershaw County Library Book Sale begins on Thurs. Sept. 10 with Friends' Night, from 5 PM to 8 PM. You can join at the door! The sale opens to the general public on Fri. Sept. 11 from noon to 8 PM.
