Nobody moves to Del Webb because they’re getting old.

They move there because they’re tired of spending their weekends taking care of a house instead of enjoying their life.

And honestly? After walking through 100 Broadhaven Drive, I get it.

This villa just had a $10,000 price improvement and it’s one of the most move-in-ready homes I’ve toured in Del Webb Nocatee.

2 BR | 2 BA | Dedicated office / flex space | 1,529 SF

Fresh paint. Plantation shutters. Quartz countertops. Luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout. Extended screened lanai. Epoxy garage floor. Custom closet systems. EV outlet. Whole-house water softener.

But here’s what I think buyers are really paying for…

The freedom that comes with it.

The freedom to lock the door and leave for two weeks.

The freedom to spend Saturday morning playing pickleball instead of pulling weeds.

The freedom to hop on your golf cart and meet friends for dinner.

The freedom to say “yes” to more of the things you enjoy and “no” to a lot of the maintenance headaches you don’t.

And before anyone says it…

Del Webb Nocatee isn’t the retirement community people imagine in their heads.

It’s active. It’s social. It’s vibrant.

It’s neighbors who become friends, packed pickleball courts, fitness classes, clubs, events, happy hours, travel groups and calendars that somehow stay fuller than they did during their working years.

Today is actually the perfect day to see it for yourself.

There are 17 open houses happening throughout Del Webb Nocatee, including 7 villas, giving you a great opportunity to compare options and get a feel for the community.

I’ll be hosting 100 Broadhaven Drive from 12 PM - 2 PM.

And yes, there will be mimosas.

Because life is too short for boring Open Houses and warm bottled water.

Come tour the house, check out the community, sip a mimosa and let’s talk about whether less maintenance and more freedom sounds like a pretty good trade.

Thinking about downsizing, simplifying, or making the move to Del Webb? Send me a DM with BROADHAVEN and I’ll send you a list of every active villa and single-family home currently available in the community.

If you’re thinking about buying a home in the next 6-12 months, this might save you a lot of frustration.

One of the biggest mistakes Buyers can actually make often happens before they ever get the keys.

They get pre-approved, start looking at homes, get excited about the future… and then decide it’s the perfect time to buy a new car.

I know…

You’ve been driving the same vehicle forever. The payment looks reasonable. The dealership says you’re approved. Life is good.

The problem?

Your mortgage lender isn’t just looking at whether you can afford the car payment.

They’re looking at your debt-to-income ratio, your monthly obligations, your credit profile and your overall risk as a borrower.

That new car payment can change what you qualify for, impact your mortgage approval or create issues right in the middle of your home purchase.

It’s not because anyone is trying to ruin your fun.

It’s because I’ve seen a car payment change what someone qualifies for faster than almost anything else.

So if you’re planning to buy a home in the next year, here’s your friendly reminder:

Before you finance a vehicle, open a new credit card, co-sign for someone or make any major purchase, call your lender first.

A five-minute conversation today can save you weeks of stress later.

What was the best home-buying advice someone gave you?

Or if you’re planning to buy in the next year, what’s the one thing you’re most confused about right now?

Today is not about real estate.
Or about pool parties. Or beach days. Or sales at your favorite retailer. Heck, it’s not even really about the long weekend.

Today exists because somebody else no longer does.

Memorial Day is about the men and women who left home wearing a uniform and never made it back to the family who loved them.

It’s about folded flags.
Empty seats at dinner tables.
Children who grew up without a parent.
Spouses who had to rebuild life after a knock on the door changed theirs forever.

There has always been a cost for freedom.
And the people we honor today paid for it with their lives.

So yes…
Enjoy the sunshine. Gather with your family. Cook the burgers.
Take the boat out. Go to the beach. Share so many laughs and make all of the memories.

That is part of the freedom they fought for.

But somewhere in the middle of all of it, take a minute to pause long enough to remember why this day exists in the first place.

Because while most of us were building lives, planning futures, raising families and chasing dreams…
someone else gave up the chance to keep doing the same.

As the wife of a Marine veteran and retired police sergeant, days like today hit just a little different in our home.

We understand that service changes not just the person who serves, but the entire family who stands beside them.

And for the families who whose loved one paid the ultimate sacrifice… there are no words big enough to encompass the gratitude I will forever have.

Today, we remember. We honor. And we thank those who gave everything for a country they believed was worth protecting.

Let us all live in a way that honors that sacrifice well. 🇺🇸

There’s something about watching your baby walk through a field of wildflowers that makes time feel loud.

Last night, Addyson and I drove out to in Elkton on one of the last spring picking days before they close for the season. The wildflowers were a little worn from the heat and the season changing. Some bent. Some fading. Some already past their prime.

And somehow… it felt fitting.

Because parenthood these days kind of feels like that too.

One minute you’re packing lunches, tying shoes and begging them to stop drawing on the walls. (And, yes, she was the only one to ever draw on the walls!)

Then suddenly she’s 19 years old, walking through sunflower fields with car keys in her pocket and camp bags packed by the front door.

We left with so many beautiful flowers. But honestly, the flowers weren’t really the thing I went for.

The thing was the time.

Nineteen quiet little seconds here.
A laugh there.
All of the bugs.
A selfie.
The threat of rain.
Watching my baby wander through flowers before heading off for the summer this afternoon.

Nobody really prepares you for this part of motherhood. The part where they still need you… but not in the same ways anymore.

She’ll always be my baby.
Even when she’s building a life of her own.

And if I’m being honest, I already miss her a little.

Six years ago I was sitting in New Jersey trying to decide if we were crazy for moving to Florida.

We weren’t crazy. But it was still one of the hardest things we’ve ever done.

Even when a move is the right decision - it can still feel really heavy.

Swipe through. This one’s for anyone who’s been quietly wondering if St. Johns County might be their next chapter.
