Sewer line work can be expensive but very critical for an investors long term hold property. In the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s the sewers were installed with clay pipes. They are in many cases still in tact after 50 plus years. But the builders used cast iron to then connect to the house, which cracks, has corrosion build up and allows tree roots to easily enter if connections aren’t done right. Make sure when buying your investments to ‘scope’ the sewer line, and get video of the line to confirm what needs to be replaced. This is why age of homes matters do much!
