Heads up for all Crystal Valley Neighbors!!!
Interchange construction on Crystal Valley Parkway is progressing east of Interstate 25. To continue the next phase of roundabout construction, the Crystal Valley Parkway intersection at East Frontage Road will move a quarter-mile south.
Beginning Wednesday, July 31, crews will start shifting both directions of Crystal Valley Parkway traffic onto the southern half of the bridge. This traffic shift will occur in phases until reaching its ultimate configuration on Thursday, Aug. 1. From that time on, residents will access Crystal Valley Parkway via a new, temporary intersection at the East Frontage Road, located a quarter-mile south of its original location.
Access to Douglas Lane under Crystal Valley Parkway will be relocated to its new permanent location and open for local traffic.
See upcoming traffic configuration on the map below.
Be on the lookout for changing traffic patterns, drive safely and watch for crews working in the area. Roadside signs will provide updates. This traffic pattern will remain until the future roundabout at Crystal Valley Parkway and new East Frontage Road intersection is constructed.
By relocating traffic, crews can expedite work activities outside of active travel lanes while maintaining traffic flow.
Initial site preparations have also begun on the west side of I-25. This summer, bridge construction work will begin on I-25. Throughout the duration of the project, please watch for flagging operations and daytime and nighttime lane closures on surrounding streets and on I-25.
A portion of the East Plum Creek Trail near Crystal Valley Parkway and sidewalks along the Crystal Valley Parkway bridge will remain closed through early 2025.
The interchange is a top transportation priority for the Town, and it will improve safety and mobility in the surrounding community and provide a key regional transportation link from I-25 to southern Castle Rock and Douglas County.
Once completed, the new interchange will feature:
β’ A new Crystal Valley Parkway bridge over I-25 with two through lanes in each direction and updated trail and sidewalk connections
β’ A new roundabout on Crystal Valley Parkway east of I-25
β’ Construction of northbound and southbound on- and off-ramps
β’ A new bridge over the BNSF Railway tracks west of I-25
β’ Relocation of segments of the East and West Frontage roads
This project is a collaborative effort among the Town, Douglas County and the Colorado Department of Transportation. Roundabout and Frontage Road construction east of I-25 is anticipated to be completed in 2025, with total completion of the interchange project anticipated in 2027.
