It’s hard to believe that 25 years have passed since September 11, 2001. I can still tell you exactly where I was that morning, what I was doing, and how I felt—and somehow, it still feels like it was only a few years ago.
Today, we remember the thousands of innocent lives lost on 9/11, as well as the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in the years and wars that followed. We remember the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and everyone who carried the weight of that day long after the headlines faded.
We remember what life was like before 9/11/01. We remember the heartbreak, the uncertainty, but also the extraordinary way our country came together—as Americans, as neighbors, and as one nation.
Twenty-five years later, may we never forget those we lost, the sacrifices made, or the sense of unity and compassion that emerged from one of our darkest days.
