A lead-poisoning case began making its way through the legal system following a hearing in Central Falls, Rhode Island, in August 2026.
This should serve as a serious reminder to homeowners and contractors: there is no room for cutting corners when working in buildings constructed before 1978.
Based on the limited information currently available, children were reportedly exposed to lead during window-replacement work. As a result, the homeowner was fined $5,000, and the contractor may face the loss of their contractor’s license.
