Last week saw 389 properties go under contract across the Charleston area, +16% to the same week last year.

This is the busiest week since week 17 of 2022 (205 weeks ago, nearly four years).

The CHS housing market shows remarkable resilience despite the war and related uncertainty around oil and gas prices which has hampered both the stock market and interest rates.

Last week saw a SIGNIFICANT jump with 338 properties going under contract - that’s +30% compared to the same week last year! yes, 30%

February also showed strength with written sales up +7% compared to February ‘25.

Expect sales to remain strong through late April and August before a seasonal slowdown.

✨ Meet the my family! ✨

After 30 years in beautiful Charleston, Chris and I feel so lucky to call this city home—and even luckier to share it with our family.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 Chris Thornton, my husband of 18 years, can often be found surfing at Folly Beach on a chilly morning or swimming laps bright and early at MUSC’s wellness center. We met back in ’99 at a James Island oyster roast, and we’ve been adventuring together ever since!

🎷 Claire, our oldest, is a talented musician who loves playing the saxophone, guitar, and singing along to all her favorites—Adele, Whitney Houston, and yes, even Darius Rucker!

🎾 Mary is our bookworm and athlete, dominating the tennis courts and always lost in a good story or jamming to Noah Kahan.

💖 Sadie, our youngest, is crushing kindergarten and keeping us on our toes with gymnastics, ballet, and fun playdates with her friends. She’s pure energy and joy every single day!

Charleston has been the backdrop to all our family memories, and I love helping others find their perfect spot in this incredible city. 🏡

Agent caravan 🚘 is a staple every Thursday at my office. We walk through 3 to 5 homes that are listed through Carolina One. We give feedback to the listing agent and learn about the neighborhood and the comparable properties. This has been invaluable in becoming an expert on the Charleston real estate market.
