It really does feel like I’m daydreaming these days… watching things start to fall into place just like I wished they would, both personally and professionally. I’m so proud of myself and my people for showing up with consistency and for trusting the process.

July in East Charlotte was delicious. Core memories were made from fireworks in the street with our neighbors, to traveling puppet shows at VisArt Video & Cafe, to special wildlife documentary screenings at The Independent Picture House, to family beach days at Topsail, to helping my sweet clients get to the closing table on the most perfect single-owner split level in Idlewild Farms.

August is coming in hot with more amazing clients and EVEN a precious little MCM listing in East Charlotte heading to market soon so stick around, y’all!

It’s recycling day in East Charlotte (at least my part of it) and as I ruminated on how many recycling bins on my street alone probably contain items that aren’t recyclable at our municipal recycling centers, I figured I’d throw out another little PSA about one of my favorite places Innovation Barn.

Inside The Barn there are a number of sustainability-centered nonprofits, including The Bulb Mobile Market that so graciously accepts small, medium, and large size plastic clamshell containers from berries/produce/etc and actually reuses them! Imagine that!

They do ask that you give them a quick rinse before dropping them off - but you don’t need to worry about removing the labels. They also accept egg cartons no matter the material (cardboard, styrofoam, or plastic.)

Ok that’s my little recycling PSA for today! Back to your regularly scheduled programming, friends.

When it’s hot out, we’re out of our routine and we’re all getting on each others’ nerves, my family knows it’s time to beeline for Kool Park Pool.

It’s a family-owned community pool in Hickory, NC, established in 1935 (!!) when a gravel quarry was dug out to build the surrounding. There are waterfalls, a 15’ high dive (originally a watch tower at Cape Canaveral for visiting dignitaries!!) a water slide, shaded picnic areas, and a whole lot more.

You pay admission once for the whole day and you can bring coolers - no alcohol though - with food and drinks for the whole fam. It’s $18 for adults and $10 for children under 12, under 2y are free. Cash only, but there is an ATM on site.

Kool Park Pool is the kind of place where nostalgia reigns supreme and the good old days just don’t feel that far away, ya know? I didn’t grow up visiting, but my very good friend c a t e introduced me to it when our babies were teeny tiny and we’ve established some core memories here since. If you need a lil break this summer, I highly encourage you to pop up to Hickory for a visit and do the same. 🧡
