The best advice real estate agents will have for anyone who’s selling a home during the winter is to minimize holiday decor. But the exception to that rule? LIGHTS! 💡

To be fair, most real estate agents won’t tell you to add more red and green Christmas-type lights. Instead, adding simple tea lights could really boost your !

They can add a bit of elegance, make your home look even more charming, and adds to those feel-good vibes!

Are you trying to get your in before Christmas? Follow these tips to set yourself up for that goal!

1️⃣ Take notice of the days businesses are closed, so you can plan accordingly.

2️⃣ Schedule your appraisal or home inspection ASAP to leave some cushion room for holiday delays.

3️⃣ Work with your agents to see what the best timeline would be.

Are you about to stage your home for an open house? Don’t make these 3 common staging mistakes!

DON’T…

1️⃣ Add decor. Though it feels counterintuitive, you want to remove more than you add, so potential buyers can envision themselves in the space.

2️⃣ Leave any personal items in the home, such as photos or mail. You want to remove everything personal so they don’t distract from the features and “new feel” of the home. (This also includes removing your car!)

3️⃣ Do a light cleaning. Do a DEEP cleaning, and hire a professional if possible to ensure you’re removing all stains, spots, and smells.
