Take a look at these three tips for buyers starting their housing search.
1) Don’t overcomplicate the search. Narrow down to just 3 criteria that are musts. Then let your realtor do the work to find you a good deal. Remember, all houses can become home with some vision.
2) your budget needs to be very specific. Only you know what you will be comfortable with. Don’t over-pursue a home, and just because a lender says you qualify for a certain amount, doesn’t mean that’s what you should spend. Create a budget, stick to it.
3) Make sure you are pre-approved before starting the search. Most agents will not accept an offer without a pre-approval letter. You don’t want to miss out on a home because you need a few days to verify income.
