Here is a peek of the sunroom in Spring-the trees are beautiful right now and on the sunniest of days it’s prettier than a picture here and our favorite place to be. I cut a few of the first blooms from the hydrangeas in the garden. We had a late frost and unfortunately, though covered, one of my largest plants has just a few blooms this year.
We are everything ready for Summer and boat season cleaning the boathouse, bringing the jet skis out of storage, and tending to the yard and flowers…oh so much mulching to do!!!!!
The kids are coming for Memorial Day Weekend minus two who are waiting on baby!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Have a wonderful week friends!!!

Bringing the outside in-with shades of bright summer kiwi green, crisp whites, and vibrant blues. During the warmer months I change my coverlet to a lighter weight white and then add fun color which brightens up the room. My window view was my inspiration .🩵
The entryway is a casual drop zone with hooks for hats, colorful seasonal pillows, and my favorite painting of the view from our home by .What a beautiful gift she has for capturing the beauty around us!
I also found this gorgeous art piece and added it to the wall in the entryway as well. I love the frame and the blossoming trees and how the colors of this time of year were painted on this canvas-an inexpensive treasure!
And finally, Brie soaking in the view from her favorite spot by the window as the the flowers in the window box do their thing and the hydrangeas ready to burst into bloom!
A few snippets of life around here in May. Taking time to enjoy the view…I hope you are too friends…hugs. 💐Lisa

Spring pollen season has commenced and after many days finally waning so I began a refresh in the primary bedroom. Green in every shade is my go to accent color throughout the house. Deeper greens in fall and winter and softer for Spring and Summer!
I brightened the bed and chairs near the window with pops of gingham and linen in Kiwi green. I love this shade! Bright and fun - not as intense as lime but certainly a pretty color for the warmer months. I haven’t decided whether to change out my drapery panels to white yet. Probably as Summer approaches I will do just that. 🩵
I feel like I say this so often here as design advice- but here I go again…pillows in various textures and patterns, floral, stripe, interesting trims, lumbar, rectangular, and square…they are your “best friends “ for changing the look and feel of a room on a budget!!!
Have fun and don’t be afraid to add the unexpected…you may just love it!
Have a great week friends.Hugs! Lisa🩵

This week was a mix of sun and rain in the Carolinas. I love a rainy day…all of the warm soft lighting throughout the house make it feel cozy and warm.
I rarely share the dining room but took a few photos of our simple space and the view from the new windows. I’m happy we decided to switch to the grids in the front! They give the outside of the house a cottage feel.
We cleaned up the patio outside the sunroom (first one because I couldn’t wait to add some color) ❤️and the second will be after pollen. Or “pollen season “ as we call it here. 🤣
Colorful pillows, my first flowers, and ferns make the porch a happy place to be especially in the morning and evening.
In the living room new artwork on the Frame tv. We so love this purchase for this little space. Are you feeling a touch of Spring yet at your house?
Have a wonderful week friends! I hope it’s filled with sunshine and good things. Lisa

Hello March…..🪻
We can feel and see signs of early Spring in the Carolinas. The hellebores and hydrangeas have tiny buds, the sun is setting much later and the days are warmer. Soon I can head to the nursery to get a few ferns for the porch ! I can hardly wait!
With the renovations in the basement continuing I can’t get to many of the things I typically style the entryway table with so this weekend I improvised and styled it with a few of my favorite floral art prints, books, chinoiserie pieces, and baskets for texture. I have some gorgeous Spring stems for a vase but will have to add later!
I was able to capture Brie in my photograph today🩵She will be 14 this year and is slowing down and spends more time resting now. Every now and then she loves a good run outside with Romeo. I think Spring has given her more zest and energy and it is so joyful to see.
This morning the doors are open and fresh March air is coming in! It feels wonderful after having the house closed for many weeks! Spring is definitely in the air!!
Enjoy the week ahead my friends. Hugs! Lisa

Patiently awaiting Spring over here, are you as well? 🌷
I thought it would be fun to share some of my most favorite Spring florals and tables over the years. Beginning with tulips! No “arranging” necessary right? The way they “go their own way” makes me smile.
We planted many varieties of hydrangeas here when we moved to the lake and last year we had so many hydrangea blooms that I had bouquets for days. My favorite flower of all. What is yours?
I love choosing colorful Spring supermarket bundles and creating an arrangement in an interesting vessel or basket for a bright and colorful tablescape. A few of my favorites here! 💐
And finally, porch and patio season will be here soon. I am looking forward to cleaning and freshening up the spaces with patterned rugs, planters, and comfy seating. Oh…and of course FLOWERS!
Have a bright and happy Sunday! Hugs! Lisa 🩵

Adding just a few touches of Spring throughout the house💐
We had two warm sunny delightful days so I had the “itch” to bring out a few of my favorite floral art pieces for the built-ins and console table.
I found some gorgeous viney stems with tiny white flowers that I have just the right vase for too. They look like viburnum! Before long they will be in bloom along with colorful spring bulbs. I can’t wait!
A few of my favorite dishes and platters add color and pattern to the open shelves in the kitchen and the little blue hutch in the dining room. And finally…a fresh floral arrangement with some of my hellebores tucked in! They already have little buds signaling they will be blooming soon.
Have a beautiful week my friends! Hugs!

A few photographs of home from the past week…February is just flying by don’t you think? I’m honestly yearning for Spring!

The first burst of color with daffodils and tulips, leaves filling the trees with green, blue skies, and abundant sunshine!
Being inside has given me time to work on unfinished needlepoint projects, indoor home projects and organizing, and I’ve been reading so many books! Recent favorites…The Correspondent, Theo of Golden, and The Covenant of Water.
For all of you readers…any good recommendations for me?

I would love to hear your favorite reads- old or new.
Have a wonderful week friends!! Hugs🩵
