If you haven't heard by now...
The Real Estate industry is changing.
(Disclaimer: I'm going to keep this as short and sweet as possible, that being said PLEASE reach out to an industry professional if you have questions, or to fact check what you are hearing and seeing. Remember that media is designed to instill fear, division, and uproar... Main stream headlines are rarely truthful, positive, or factual. Even this post will not encompass "all the things" by a long shot! AND news flash.. Jesus Wins, just sayin'...)
Ok, back to our regularly scheduled post...
This past Friday on March 15th the National Association of Realtors reached an agreement to resolve a nationwide claim concerning multiple topics, the one you are hearing of most is commission and the multiple listing service.
As of this July 1st, new rules are being implemented in the Real Estate industry (not covering those here)
What does this mean...
>> In as little as 3 months MILLIONS of realtors are going to be shifting the way business has been done and navigating a new structure, paperwork, learning curve, lending practices, etc.
That in and of itself is INSANE... Literally a little under 90 days to navigate, educate, and implement a structure that has been in place for YEARS... (I'm not upset so much over the ruling as I am the timeframe given to pivot "all the things")
>> This new ruling, if lending does not change, will have a negative impact on veterans and government backed loans, especially first time homebuyers.
>> NOW more than any other time it is going to be imperative to seek, listen to, and hire an expert Realtor. We have a pulse on every move, shift, conversation, and community in this industry that consumers and clients just don't have. With this being said, you will be paying for that expert knowledge, guidance, and skill just as you would any other profession.
>> Lastly, love on your realtor friends & family. Many of us are navigating this massive change, every detail that will shift, the impact on our home grown businesses, our communities, our clients, and it's not easy. So love on us, give us grace, and pray for us. It takes nothing to be kind and understanding. .. In all honesty 20% of realtors reach 90% of the business and for some this will be a welcomed pivot, for others it will not be, and it is predicted many will choose to no longer practice this profession.
*** What I can say for Meredith Christy Real Estate, is I will continue fighting for my underdogs, to see those who thought home ownership was not possible become possible for them, to be a voice for the industry, and continue to stand firm on the core belief of every business transaction and practice I partake in: Philippians 2:3-4 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vein conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."
🙏🏼My trust is in God who ultimately knows every plan, and has purpose for everyone within that plan, and working it all to our good. I may not know every twist and turn this industry will take, but He does and I rest easy knowing He is in control. 🙌🏼
