☕ Coffee & Community with Enza Coffee isn’t always about finding a new café.

Sometimes it’s about the memories waiting in your own kitchen. ❤️

This is my mom’s moka pot—the one she used every morning for cappuccinos and afternoon espressos. Every time I hear it bubbling on the stove, I’m reminded that coffee is about slowing down, sharing stories, and making memories.

How do you make coffee at home? ☕ Let me know below!

☕ Coffee & Community with Enza

This week, I’m changing things up a little.

Instead of visiting a local coffee shop, I’m inviting you into my kitchen to share one of my favorite family traditions.

This is my mom’s moka pot—the same one she used to make espresso for her morning cappuccino or an afternoon pick-me-up. It’s more than just a coffee pot to me; it’s a piece of my family’s history.

Growing up in an Italian home, coffee was never just about the drink. It was about slowing down, sitting around the kitchen table, sharing stories, laughing, reminiscing, and simply enjoying time together. Some of my favorite memories with my mom happened over a cup of espresso.

I make coffee several different ways at home—from a French press to pour-over—but there’s something special about hearing this little moka pot begin to bubble on the stove. The aroma instantly takes me back home.

That’s what Coffee & Community is all about… it’s not just where we drink coffee, it’s the memories and connections we make along the way.

I’d love to hear from you…

How do you make coffee at home?
☕ Moka pot?
☕ French press?
☕ Drip coffee?
☕ Espresso machine?
☕ Pour-over?

Tell me your favorite way to enjoy your daily cup!

❤️ Until next week’s coffee adventure…

Wednesday In the Know

Could you owe capital gains tax when you sell your Lake Norman home? It is a question many homeowners never think about until they are ready to move.

Before you worry, this is not about creating fear. It is about understanding the questions to ask before making one of the biggest financial decisions you may ever make.

Many Lake Norman homeowners have owned their homes for years and have built significant equity as property values have changed over time.

That equity can create exciting opportunities, whether you are considering downsizing, relocating, moving closer to family, or simply exploring what your next chapter may look like.

However, before selling, it is important to understand all aspects of the transaction, including potential tax considerations. Every homeowner's situation is unique, and questions about taxes should always be discussed with a qualified tax professional.

In my latest article, I share why long-time homeowners should start planning early, what questions to consider before listing, and why having the right team of professionals can help you make informed decisions.

How long have you owned your current home?

5 years or less?
10 to 20 years?
20+ years?

I would love to hear your answer in the comments.

If you would like a copy of my article, comment EQUITY below and I will send it to you.

And if you are thinking about selling, downsizing, or simply want to understand your options, I would be honored to be your trusted real estate resource. I can help you evaluate your home's value, understand the selling process, and connect you with trusted professionals when needed.

☕ Coffee & Community with Enza

This week’s coffee adventure brought me to Local Patriot Roasting Company in Kannapolis, NC!

This week I explored the growing downtown of Kannapolis. With its revitalized streets, Cannon Ballers stadium, local shops and restaurants, it was the perfect place to discover another locally owned coffee shop.

I met up with a longtime friend at Local Patriot Roasting Company, where we were greeted by Abby, our friendly barista. She’s been with the shop for three years and shared that it’s the amazing community and loyal regular customers that make this such a special place to work.

One thing I enjoyed learning was the history behind their coffee roasting. Local Patriot Roasting Company originally roasted all of their beans on-site and the original roaster is still proudly displayed inside the café. As their business grew, however, demand outpaced what the small roaster could produce. Today, they continue roasting their signature beans off-site to keep up with production while maintaining the quality and flavor their customers have come to expect. It’s a wonderful reminder of how much this local business has grown over the years.

☕ What We Ordered

• Me: Cappuccino with oat milk
• My friend: A custom latte we nicknamed the “Local Rebel”—made with mocha, hazelnut, bourbon caramel, whole milk, and a dusting of cocoa.

☕ Coffee

The cappuccino was smooth and enjoyable with a rich flavor. While it wasn’t my favorite cappuccino I’ve had recently, it was still a very good cup of coffee.

🏡 Atmosphere

This shop has a warm, welcoming vibe with patriotic memorabilia throughout the café. It truly feels like a community gathering place where people come to connect over great coffee.

👥 Meeting Space

There was plenty of open floor space but most seating was designed for smaller groups. It’s perfect for catching up with a friend or getting some work done, though I would have loved to see a few larger tables for meetings or bigger gatherings.

⭐ Service

Abby was fantastic! She was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The entire staff made everyone feel welcome, even with the café bustling from the rainy weather outside.

Wednesday In the Know

If you were hiring someone to help sell one of your biggest financial investments, what questions would you ask first?

Many homeowners spend weeks preparing their home for the market, but very little time choosing the person who will represent them throughout the sale.

The truth is, your choice of listing agent can impact much more than putting a sign in the yard. From pricing your home correctly and creating a marketing strategy to negotiating offers and guiding you through every step of the process, the right Realtor can make a significant difference in your experience and your results.

In my latest article, I share some of the most important questions every homeowner should ask before choosing a listing agent. I also explain why experience, communication, local market knowledge, and a personalized strategy often matter more than simply choosing the agent who promises the highest price or charges the lowest commission.

If you have lived in your home for many years, are thinking about downsizing, or are planning your next chapter, taking the time to choose the right real estate professional can help you move forward with confidence.

What is the most important quality you would look for in a Realtor?

Would it be experience, communication, marketing, honesty, local knowledge, or something else?

Tell me in the comments.

If you would like a copy of my full article, comment LISTING AGENT below and I will send it to you.

And if you are thinking about selling, whether it is next month or a few years from now, I would be honored to be your trusted real estate resource. I am always happy to answer your questions, help you understand today's market, and create a strategy that fits your goals and timeline.

This week’s adventure was a little different!

Instead of visiting a coffee shop, I went behind the scenes at Trail Blaze Coffee Academy in Cornelius for their 5th Anniversary celebration.

This visit was especially meaningful because it reunited me with my longtime friend, Brady Butler. We first met years ago when I was co-owner of Maddy’s Fatty’s Bakery, and we were exploring specialty coffee and espresso equipment.

As an Italian who grew up on espresso and cappuccinos, I loved learning more about the craft behind every great cup. From coffee tasting and aroma stations to barista training and espresso machine maintenance, it gave me a whole new appreciation for the passion and precision that goes into specialty coffee.

A huge thank you to Brady and the entire Trail Blaze Coffee Academy team for the invitation and congratulations on five incredible years!

What’s one coffee skill you’d love to learn; pulling the perfect espresso, latte art, or coffee tasting? Let me know in the comments! ☕👇

Until next week… keep supporting local, one cup at a time. ❤️

Wednesday In the Know

Thinking about turning your spare bedroom into a home gym, craft room, or office before you sell? That decision could actually make it harder to attract buyers.

Many homeowners personalize their homes to fit their lifestyle, and that makes perfect sense while you're living there. But when it comes time to sell, buyers want to imagine how they would use the space.

A room that is staged as a traditional bedroom or flexible living space often appeals to more buyers than one designed for a single purpose. Whether someone needs a nursery, guest room, home office, or space for aging parents, flexibility helps buyers see the possibilities.

If you have lived in your home for many years, especially if you are thinking about downsizing or planning your next chapter, small staging changes can make a big difference without spending thousands on renovations.

In my latest article, I explain why some room conversions may actually work against you, what buyers are looking for today, and simple ways to prepare your home to make the best first impression.

What would you use a spare bedroom for today?

A guest room?
A home office?
A home gym?
A craft room?
Something else?

Tell me in the comments.
