For me, the preference is OBVIOUS!! Summer has always been my favorite season! And now, it tends to pertain to my real estate career as well.. Not just because the dreary grey days are gone and I’m not hiding by the fireplace every time I show a house, but because it also benefits YOU, the buyer, to purchase in the summertime! Here’s why:
1. The Inventory — Traditionally, more homes are listed for sale in the spring and summer, giving you more options. And when you have more to choose from, you increase your chance of finding the right location and the right home.
2. Competitive Market — When more homes are on the market, pricing is more transparent. You can better assess whether a home is priced fairly when compared to similar listings.
3. The Weather — It sounds obvious, but there’s more at play than you might think. It’s the best time for you to see the true condition of a yard, roof, even natural lighting in the home. Windows and window placement plays a huge role in the overall feel of a home. It’s also easier for a home inspections to take place.
