Effective immediately, the Exclusive Buyer Agency Agreement (Form 201) in the NC REALTORS® forms library has been revised to remove the VA loan language in Paragraph 4(b)(ii).

The previous language warned that a buyer using a VA loan was prohibited by federal law from paying their buyer’s agent a fee. The Department of Veterans Affairs suspended this federal law in May 2024 after completion of NCR’s forms change cycle. Since VA buyers are now permitted to pay their broker a fee while the rule is suspended, Form 201 has been amended accordingly.

🚨 Housing Alert in Iredell County! 🚨

🏡 Last week, the Iredell County Planning Board debated a controversial proposal to limit housing density to one unit per five-acre parcel in certain areas. While this measure aims to control growth, it could severely impact housing affordability. Concerns about higher taxes and wasted infrastructure are at the forefront of this debate. This proposal has been tabled for further discussion, and we'll keep you updated on future developments.

🔥 OUR TAKE: This plan is not only misguided but also a recipe for skyrocketing taxes and inefficient land use. Let's push for smarter, more sustainable solutions that benefit everyone in our community. Stay informed and make your voice heard—2024 is an election year, and local leadership matters!

On this day of independence, here's a reminder that the advocacy made possible by your NC Realtors® dues provides major benefits like the recent repeal of the Privilege License Tax.

As of July 1, 2024, members are no longer required to obtain a $50 statewide license for the privilege of practicing their profession. This translates to an almost $3M yearly savings for our industry!
