There’s something incredibly gratifying about bringing a home back to life. I started on this one a few years ago by redoing the interior, and then over the summer I finally had it re-sided and re-skirted!
One of the things I enjoy doing in my spare time, when life allows, is taking on a renovation or “flip.” I’ve always loved looking at a property and seeing the potential in it, even when that potential is a little buried underneath outdated finishes, worn spaces, and years of neglect.
There’s something so rewarding about watching that transformation happen.
This one wasn't too bad. A fresh coat of paint, new flooring, refinished cabinets, updated bathrooms and new appliances along with a little creativity and a lot of elbow grease, and suddenly, a space that felt tired and forgotten feels fresh, welcoming, and ready for a new chapter.
But for me, it’s about more than the renovation itself.
Rehabbing a property gives it another chance. Instead of sitting empty or continuing to deteriorate, it becomes a home again, a place where someone can build memories, feel comfortable, and be proud of where they live.
And that’s probably my favorite part.
Knowing that the work I put into a property can ultimately help someone find a home they’re excited to walk into makes all those hours of work worth it. This particular home went to a man that was formally homeless. He was so excited to have a home he could call his own. It truly was amazing and so gratifying! He worked so hard to get to this point and it was fun hearing his plans for even more renovations he had planned for the home. :)
I don’t do these projects because they’re easy. I do them because I genuinely enjoy the process of taking something that needs a little love and turning it into something beautiful and useful again.
There’s just something special about bringing a home back to life and knowing someone else gets to make it their own.
