A new report from Redfin shows the national market slowing—homes sitting longer and buyers negotiating below list price.
But here in Chicago, it’s a different story.
Homes are going under contract in about 29 days, buyers are paying nearly full price, and multiple offers are back. Just this past week, a Gold Coast one-bedroom had 16 offers. Offers $100K over asking are not winning bids for premier properties.
That’s the reality right now.
This isn’t a “wait and see” market. Buyers need to be ready, decisive, and strategic. Sellers have a real opportunity—but only if pricing is positioned to create competition.
