It’s 2007. Right before everything fell apart. ⚠️
Karen gets a call from a developer-friend she’s known for years. He has 16 units sitting there, technically listed, but the agent is completely checked out. They had their own inventory to move, so those 16 condos had become an afterthought. 🏙️
At that point, the market wasn’t going to help anyone, so we stopped waiting for things to change. We staged, held open houses several times a week, and made sure every serious buyer still out there walked through the door. 🔑
We sold out all 16 units before the market nosedived in 2008. That’s when the floor dropped out. Values fell roughly 30%. From 2008 to 2012, buyers vanished. The whole market went quiet and stayed that way for a while. 📉
Then, around 2015, Google planted its flag in Fulton Market, and West Loop took off. You could feel the energy shift before the numbers even showed it. Values climbed, and today every unit that hits the market draws multiple offers. 🚀
In nearly twenty years, we’ve sold those same 16 units over and over again, watching the neighborhood transform around them, one transaction at a time. We’re now on what’s essentially a third generation of buyers. 🔄
And the story isn’t over. Sale #31 is coming up this April. 🏁 Comment “West Loop” for details.
