This is your reminder to change them filters sooner than the recommended time in your new construction home! This is 2 months on a 6 month AprilAire filter.
In a new construction home there are several construction debris that are filter through your new furnace. There are the debris from your home specifically; drywall, wood, concrete and so much more and thatās just from inside your home but then there is ongoing construction going on outside your home. Neighboring homes under construction will filter through your furnace as well. These conditions are not ānormalā conditions for which your new filter was designed for and so that timeframe suggested on your filter does not apply. You will need to check your filter every month ,sooner if you have a 3 month filter, for at least the first 8 months or longer until surrounding construction has been completed.
Signs you have a clogged filter may include less air flow being pushed through your vents, upstairs may feel warmer than downstairs, set temperature may not get reached, and/or condenser may kick on more often and you may noticed more dust in your home.
