The 2026 SSRTA Raffle Event will be on Saturday, October 3rd at Gillentown Trailhead, Mayes Pavilion. A free meal will be provided by SSRTA at noon until food is gone. Raffle to be held at 2pm.

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails Association (SSRTA) was formed in 1999. This dedicated volunteer group cares for miles of local trails that are loved by bikers, walkers, equestrians, ATVs, and snowmobiles alike. We appreciate SSRTA for offering Mountaintop residents and visitors the chance to enjoy scenic nature, and we're also grateful for their sponsorship of our Fourth Annual Mountaintop Historical Day on August 15th, from 12 to 4pm. Thank you, SSRT, for all that you do!

Thank you to the VFW and the VFW Auxiliary for generously sponsoring Mountaintop Historical Day on Saturday, August 15th, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the David House.

The Quirk - Lauck - Kelley VFW Post 5644 was chartered in 1946 with 99 members. Today, the VFW and the Auxiliary actively assist fellow veterans by donating to the County Veterans' Trust Fund and the Holidaysburg Veterans Home, as well as providing Memorial Day and Veterans Day meals.

Our VFW is also deeply involved in the community. The post supports local sports teams and Toys for Tots, and serves on the board of the Snow Shoe Park Association. Additionally, the VFW conducts an annual educational session on the American flag for fifth-grade students, who then assist in replacing flags on graves at Askey Cemetery.

Everything starts at Quiet Oaks Campground...Registration starts at 8am with the ride starting at 9am (but you can leave at anytime after 9 and ride at your own pace) and remember the Road Kill Cafe open at 8am for the best breakfast anywhere....We hope to see you on the trails.

Did you love our BBQ chicken at the Snow Shoe Carnival? Did you miss out on buying some BBQ chicken? Either way, you are in luck! We are having a BBQ Chicken Sale at the Snow Shoe Park in TWO WEEKS, Saturday, August 8th. Chicken will be ready around noon. Half chickens will be $8 and a meal will be $12. Meals will include macaroni salad, baked beans, a roll and butter. We hope to see you then, don’t miss out!
