We are so excited to set sail tomorrow from Galveston, Texas aboard the Carnival Breeze to celebrate Carnival's 50th birthday party! Several ships will meet up in the Gulf Of Mexico to have the biggest party at sea and make history. Follow Carnival on Tik Tok to see our dance off! They asked us to wear red, white, or blue clothes for the party so I (Jodi) made these shirts for us. Plus Steve had to have one for his favorite restaurant in Cozumel-Casa Denis! As well as we needed shirts in case we got found wandering around the ship (as Steve has done before LOL!!) Look for lots of pics of the historic sailing soon!

PS-if you need custom shirts for your cruise or celebration-let me know-I can ship anywhere!

We FINALLY got our ebikes! After waiting over a year from another company who never came through on our order-we went with Lectric Bikes. Steve's came two weeks ago-mine just arrived! My bike was shipped to the wrong address and it was a comedy of errors to receive it but it finally made it!

We spent a ton of time researching ebikes and were really impressed with the reviews of Lectric Bikes. So far-they seem to be a really high quality product that was well packaged and sturdily built.

They are also SO much fun! We broke them in with a short 3 mile ride yesterday. We will use them to explore all the awesome areas we are RVing in plus be able to ride them in Yellowstone this summer! What an amazing way to see Yellowstone!

These bikes are FAST! They can be Class 3 and go up to 28 miles an hour! We felt like we were flying at 19! The throttle is a super way to climb hills-and will make biking in rougher terrain much easier!

We can't wait to find some more trails to ride on-right now we are just getting used to them inside our RV park. Excuse us while we go for a bike ride!

Last Sunday found us taking a long drive out into the ranch country of south Texas. In the tiny town of La Gloria, Texas, 85 year old Fred Renk runs the only bullfight in Texas-the Santa Maria Bullring. After losing his son David (who was a famous matador), Fred had closed his bullring. But after much demand-he decided to offer two shows this spring and we were able to catch the final show.

The bullfight is bloodless and no bulls are killed. A flower is attached to the bulls hump with Velcro and for a matador to "win" the fight-he must remove the flower from the bull. Matadors from Spain and Mexico put on a great show. One bull refused to go back into the shoot after his flower was removed-it took 20 minutes and 6 guys to herd him in!

Another matador (shown with Jodi) was actually bested by the bull who got him on the ground and trampled him! Luckily, the matador was OK other then his pride and some dirt and his crew responded quickly to distract the bull.

At the end of the show, Fred announced he is organizing another show for March-if you are in the area-go check it out. It is a nice way to spend the day...enjoy some tacos and a beer and watch a great show that may soon not exist in our country. It seems as if Fred is hoping the right matador will come along and take over for him and continue to shows but right now nothing is planned after this show.

A bullfight is not something that we would normally do-in fact before seeing the ad neither of us had ever considered attending one! But one of the best parts about living this kind of lifestyle is we get to experience and see things we may not even know exist! Like a bullfight in the middle of south Texas. We are truly enjoying this journey and the RV lifestyle!

We are finally ready to reveal what we have been working on-the "big thing" we hinted about a few weeks ago. This week we have officially accepted work-camping contracts with Delaware North to spend the summer working and LIVING in Yellowstone National Park!

From May 16 until September 5th Steve and I will live inside Yellowstone and work at the Marina store. It is our first work-camping job! What a way to start-living and working in one of the most beautiful places in our country. AND Yellowstone celebrates it's 150th anniversary this summer.

This is an amazing opportunity! We will have a full hook RV spot nestled in an employee only area inside the park within a mile from our work location. We will be paid fairly for every hour worked. There are bonuses as well as employee restaurants we can sign up for a set price. As well as be able to participate in the employee activity program that allows free or discount adventures like white water rafting, hiking, and fly fishing! Plus we receive a park pass that will allow us to explore the Grand Tetons National Park nearby as well as many other nearby places! We can have visitors-so our family can come visit us and Yellowstone in a very unique way.

Yellowstone is HUGE! With over 3,471 square miles to explore-spending the summer there will help us do that!

We are SO excited and can't wait to live and work in such a beautiful place! We feel truly blessed and honored to be selected for our positions. Now excuse us while we start researching our new home! We will document this adventure every step of the way-not only for those of you who may want to do this but also to be able to look back on what we know is going to be an unbelievable summer!

Thank you Delaware North-we can't wait!

Every morning I (Jodi) take Jezebel for a long walk. She enjoys the exploration of new places and I enjoy the early morning meditation in nature. It is one of the most enjoyable parts of fulltime RVing for me.

I find so many neat things in our walks! Like this HUGE poinsettia I found today! This is the same plant you buy every Christmas and then toss out when it dies! I have no idea they could get this big! The owner was on her patio and she told me she had actually transplanted it from her old home! She had lost track of how many years she had it. It started out as a gift plant one Christmas and has now grown into this beauty!

There are many beautiful things in the world-just take a stroll and look around!

I have learned that I have to tell people what my skills are-and when I do-it pays off! For example-I've been learning digital design and sublimation for months. I started telling people and sharing what I do and began to get orders.

At our last campground I joined in a week of craft tables outside our RV for Christmas sales and sold over $400 in flags!

Checking into Texas this week, I signed up for a craft sale and shared what I do. The next day the manager called and asked me to make sashes for their 40th anniversary party for the park!

While I'm not getting rich, it is a nice way to add another source our income. Multiple streams of income make our lifestyle possible. This is really important as we are not old enough to have retirement income so we must create mobile income that allows us to travel in our RV.

So if you have a talent or a small business--START TALKING ABOUT IT TO EVERYONE! You never know where your next order will come from!

2021 was our first full entire year traveling in our motor home and being location independent. In 2021 we:

Moved & set up our motor home 16 times from campsite to campsite.
We visited and stayed in our motor home in six states including: Alabama, Texas, Arizona, California, Tennessee, and Florida. (We did not count the states we drove through-only ones we stayed in.) We were in Texas for the famous ice storm of 2021!
We put 6, 432 miles on the motor home in our travels.
We spent 258 nights in Thousand Trails campgrounds. 2021 was also the first full year of us owning our membership. With Thousand Trails, our nightly cost average was $6.21 per night.
We did stay at our family's home in our motor home for most of September through early November. This was to battle COVID, visit an ill friend, take a two week cruise, and celebrate several family milestones.

Some of our adventures included crossing the border in Texas to enjoy Nuevo Progreso, Mexico. Renting a RZR offroad UTV for a day of exploring Sedona's red rocks. Exploring Tombstone and Bisbee, Arizona. Marveling at the saguaro cactus blooming in the Saguaro National Park outside Tuscon, Arizona. Feeling like we were in a post apocalypse movie at Slab City and Salvation Mountain in California. We were also shocked at the pollution of the Salton Sea and Bombay Beach in California.

Now that we have our first full year under our belts we can say we are so glad we made this lifestyle change! While we've had some anxiety causing events (like our leveling jacks failing and parts taking over 6 weeks to arrive-thanks COVID!)..the new friends we've made and the new places we've explored make it worth every second! Having the freedom to move our entire house around the country, especially with COVID, makes everywhere feel like home and the RV community is so warm and welcoming! Plus we got to visit family and friend while bringing our entire house!

2022 is still in the planning stages for travel-we hope to have some plans set in the next week to share with you. Thank you for following our adventures in 2021-we can't wait to share our travels with you in 2022-we have many more new places to explore.

Happy New Year,
Steve & Jodi

"If you always do what you've always done-you always get what you've always gotten." While this quote refers to habits, we believe it also applies to travel. If you stay where you've always been-you limit your learning opportunities and miss out on experiencing new places, people, and cultures. Exploring the world can introduce new things to you!

You don't have to travel as extensively as we do to open up this education though! Start in your own area-visit someplace you've never been. Go to a new restaurant or church. Get out of your comfort zone and quit surrounding yourself with the same people doing the same thing in the same place as you've always done. Then start venturing further out into the world-there is so much to see and do! Expand your life-you only get one.

One of the best parts of this lifestyle is getting to see so many stunning places! These were taken in Thousand Trails Orlando last week. There is nothing more peaceful then watching the sun come up over the water. Yes our home on wheels is smaller then your sticks and bricks home but we can change our backyard any time we want!

Jez and I went for our morning walk between rain showers. While the warning sign is posted at all the entrances to the nature trails we've gotten pretty complacent as the trails are wide, well kept, with under brush cleaned far back. Plus we had gators in our back yard in Alabama!

But the last few days we've been on guard after a fellow camper found an 8ft gator sunning himself on the path!

So this morning we are walking along and suddenly there is a lot of commotion coming at us through the brush! I am terrified! Thinking oh crap I'm about to get eaten and no one will know what happened to me!

This armadillo stumbles out of the brush and rushes back and forth gathering dry brush! Apparently the rain was bothering him! Not quite a gator but Lord I was scared and shaking.

I turned around and found this vine full of hearts..I think my Higher Power was saying its OK I got ya!

The armadillo made several more trips so I was able to get some pics after I was able to breathe!

Our Story

One day we woke up and realized we wanted to start living and experiencing life differently. Our nest was almost empty and it was time to shake things up. We decided to embark on a journey 4 change. To start experiencing life differently. To do so we are selling our house, moving into a travel trailer (at least for a year), are going to travel the United States and the world, and possibly build a tiny home. We are off to experience things we can’t even imagine at this point.
