**Sunday, September 29th, Vermilion, OH - A Celebration of Woollybear Fans and Dick
Goddard’s Legacy!**

VERMILION, OH – May 23, 2024 – The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce and Fox 8 are thrilled to announce the date for the 52nd annual Woollybear Festival, set to take place on Sunday, September 29th, 2024.

This year, Vermilion will once again be ablaze with excitement as Woollybear fans from near and far gather to celebrate one of Ohio’s most
beloved traditions.

The Woollybear Festival, the brainchild of the late, great Fox 8 Meteorologist Dick Goddard,
has grown from a small-town celebration to one of the largest one-day festivals in the
state. Dick Goddard’s love for folklore and his dedication to the “four foots” inspired the
creation of this unique event, which continues to capture the hearts of attendees year after
year.

This year, the festival promises to be the most exciting yet, honoring the enduring legacy of
Dick Goddard. Visitors can look forward to a day filled with fun, including:

- **The Famous Woollybear Parade**: Featuring creative floats, marching bands, and, of course, the beloved Woollybear caterpillars.

- **Family-Friendly Activities**: Enjoy games, contests, and educational exhibits that
entertain and educate festival-goers of all ages.

- **Live Entertainment**: Performance by Fox 8 Todd Meany and the Ace Molar Band,
dance troupes, and special guest appearances.

- **Food and Craft Vendors**: A variety of delicious food options and unique crafts from
local artisans.

Welcome aboard new Vermilion Chamber of Commerce member, Kate Keane - Howard Hanna - The Bill Reilly Team! “Kate brings experience in corporate finance, sales, public service, and a Great Lake sized sense of humor to the Bill Reilly Team. A graduate of Miami University, she began her career developing a new division at Boyd Watterson Asset Mgmt., managing $75 million in equity for High Net Worth Individuals.

In 2008, Kate shifted gears to balance work and family. She did yacht sales with Moes Marine in Vermilion, engaged in fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and enjoys life in Bay Village with her husband James and their two daughters. Kate and James grew up sailing on Lake Erie, and have joyfully passed that tradition to their girls. In the winter, Kate enjoys skiing and pounding on the glass at Columbus Blue Jackets games.
