I'm excited to share some big news with you all! I've decided to put my name forward and seek the open third ward seat.
The process for filling this position involves our Republican Party leadership, particularly our precinct committeemen, making the selection. Our Party Chairman, Beau Baird, will oversee the caucus, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Honestly, I believe it would be such a positive step for both Cloverdale and our Republican Party if I were appointed to this position sooner rather than later. As long as I receive more votes on May 5, 2026, I'm effectively the presumptive councilperson – my Republican opponent has suspended his campaign, and there aren't any Democrats currently listed on the ballot.
Getting an early appointment would be a huge advantage. It would give me valuable months to really dive in, get completely acclimated, and understand all the aspects of the role before November. Think of it as hitting the ground running! For our party, it's a strategic move that would significantly strengthen my candidacy. If a Democrat does eventually join the ballot, having me already settled in with some solid experience under my belt would mean we're starting from a much more robust and prepared position. I'd be ready to represent Cloverdale effectively from day one.
I'm really looking forward to this journey and the opportunity to serve along side the current town council members!
I would be honored to have your vote May 5!
Paid for by the committee to elect Daphne Rutenberg.
